The “Be Election Smart” campaign is designed to empower voters with the tools they need to recognize and resist disinformation during election periods. By providing critical guidance on spotting false claims and verifying information sources, this initiative helps voters make informed decisions at the ballot box.

Be Online Smart: A Campaign to Raise Awareness About How Algorithms Work

The “Be Online Smart” campaign, launched by the European Digital Media Observatory (EDMO) and its network of 14 national hubs, aims to educate internet users about the influence of algorithms on their online experiences. By shedding light on how recommendation systems can both personalize content and inadvertently promote disinformation, the initiative empowers individuals to critically assess the information they encounter online and make more informed digital choices.
