Every three months, we provide a brief overview of verified disinformation narratives in the Central European region in the form of Fact-checking Briefs. In addition to the regular quarterly brief, we also prepare a Special Brief on current events (e.g. political crises, elections, economic events, etc.) that resonate in the public space.
The briefs summarise the work of the hub’s fact-checking organisations (AFP, Demagog.pl, Demagog.cz and Demagog.sk). They also include data from the longitudinal study CEDMO Trends, which is carried out in monthly waves by Charles University in cooperation with Median in the Czech Republic and IPSOS in Slovakia.
In order to broaden the understanding of public opinion trends and perceptions of the current social situation in other European countries, some of the waves of the longitudinal survey are supplemented with data from comparative studies representing other countries, in particular Poland.
The data collection for the longitudinal CEDMO Trends survey in the Czech Republic is being implemented by Median and funded by the EU’s Recovery and Resilience Instruments Programme under the CEDMO 1.4 project 1 – Z220312000000, Support to increase the impact, innovation and sustainability of CEDMO in the Czech Republic.
Data collection for the longitudinal survey in Slovakia is carried out by IPSOS. It was supported by Google until November 2024. As of February 2025, it is funded by a project called MIT 60273/24/21300/21000 CEDMO 2.0 NPO.
The affiliation is given to each project individually given by which project is responsible for the respective brief.
