Tuberculosis, abbreviated as TB, is a tricky disease that primarily affects the lungs, but can also affect other parts of the body.  The disease is caused by bacteria in the genus Mycobacterium tuberculosis.  Misinformation about TB tends to be oriented in different ways to create fear and tension around current crises.
