How is the information environment evolving in the age of generative artificial intelligence? How are these changes affecting elections, public health, and trust in society? And what tools can help identify manipulative content? The answers can be found in our new CEDMO Annual Report 2025/2026, which presents the key findings, research outputs, and activities from the fifth year of our hub’s operations.
This year’s edition, titled Rethinking Reality, Evidence and Trust, focuses on questions of trust, information verification, and the impact of artificial intelligence on today’s information landscape. The report explores the growing presence of AI-generated content and deepfakes, foreign information influence during the Czech parliamentary elections, health-related disinformation, media literacy, implementation of the Digital Services Act, public attitudes towards digital technologies across Europe, and changing perceptions of the war in Ukraine. It also introduces new technological tools developed within CEDMO, including Telescope, a system designed to monitor the spread of content across social media platforms.
The annual report was authored by Václav Moravec, Táňa Abrhámová, Michaela Benedigová, Amine Bidar, Mária Bieliková, Ivan Ruta Cuker, Jan Čech, Barbora Dobó, Veronika Frankovská, Jan Fridrichovský, Beáta Gavurová, Petr Gongala, Jana Kazaz, Katarína Klingová, Martyna Kluczyńska, Jakub Kubś, Lukáš Kutil, Eoghan Macguire, Stanislav Matějka, Chiara Mihalčatinová, Thalie Ngugen, Anna Pudłowska, Delphine Ramond, Wojciech Solak, Jana Soukupová, Jochen Spangenberg, Karina Stasiuk-Krajewska, Jakub Šimko, Danae Tsabouraki, Barbora Vidová Hladká, Silvio Waisbord, and Patryk Zakrzewski.
