CEDMO launches a series of webinars for Polish teachers
The Polish team of our Media Literacy Unit is launching webinars on disinformation and fake news for Polish teachers. The goal is to inspire educators to find engaging ways of bringing these issues into their classrooms.
The first webinar will take place on November 28 at 6 pm CET and will be live-streamed on the Polish language version of the CEDMO website.
During the first webinar, the Polish team led by Karina Stasiuk-Krajewska will:
- Analyze the mechanisms that make people vulnerable to misinformation. How are people manipulated, and is there a way to talk to them about it? The examples will be supported by the latest research results.
- Give examples of disinformation narratives and fake news and show what makes them attractive to prospective recipients.
- Introduce initiatives and tools that can support people in the fight against disinformation (fact-checking portals, simple technological tools, etc.).
- Suggest specific ideas for talking to young people about misinformation and teaching lessons on the topic.
There will be three webinars in total. Teachers can choose to participate in all of them or just in some. Participants will receive a certificate issued by the Central European Digital Media Observatory (CEDMO).
The first webinar will take place on November 28, 2022. The link to the webinar will be sent to registered participants.
